Julien Talpin is a permanent CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) research fellow in political science at the University of Lille and co‑editor of the journal Participations. His research deals with civic engagement, urban social movements and racial segregation in France and the US. He has recently published Community organizing. De l’émeute à l’alliance des classes populaires aux États-Unis (Paris: Raisons d’Agir, 2016); and “Political Campaigns and Civic Culture: Comparing Canvassing and Party Structures in the French and American 2012 Presidential Campaigns” in the journal French Politics, Culture and Society (2016).
