François Robert

François Robert is a historian and CNRS research engineer based at the research unit Triangle (Action, Discours, Pensée Politique et Économique – Action, Discourse, Political and Economic Thinking) at the École Nationale Supérieure (ENS) in Lyon. His research is rooted in the fields of corporate and urban history. He has contributed to many works on these topics. Together with Loïc Bonneval, he recently published a socio-historical study on real-estate profitability (L’Immeuble de rapport : l’immobilier entre gestion et spéculation. Lyon, 1860‑1990, Rennes, Presses Universitaires de Rennes, 2013). His latest book, also co‑authored with Loïc Bonneval, focuses on the history of a real-estate firm that played a major role in the urbanization of Lyon (De la rente immobilière à la finance. La Société de la rue Impériale. Lyon, 1854‑2004, Lyon, ENS Éditions, 2019).
