Audrey Mariette

Audrey Mariette is an assistant professor at Paris‑8 University and a member of the Cultures et Sociétés Urbaines section of the Centre de Recherches Sociologiques et Politiques de Paris (CRESPPA–CSU; Paris Center for Sociological and Political Research – Urban Cultures and Societies). Her research focuses on processes of categorization, social inequalities, and relations of domination. Her early work examined the links between art and politics through the study of the category of “social cinema” and the representation of the working classes in France in the 1990s and 2000s. Since 2012, her work has focused on the categories of “public health/community health” and health policies at the local level. Her publications include “Des agents locaux aux prises avec une catégorie floue d’action publique. Enquête sur la « santé publique » dans une commune populaire de la banlieue parisienne” (Lien social et Politiques, no. 78, 2017).
