Ten years after its launch, Vélib’, the public bicycle-sharing service in the Paris region, arrived at a major turning point. In January 2018, the operator JCDecaux was replaced by Smoove, a Montpellier-based start-up. The Mobile Lives Forum set out to make a first assessment of Velib’: 10 years on, how has Velib’ changed mobility and the lifestyles of people living in the Paris region? Is Vélib’ a sustainable and effective mobility program?
Metropolitics needs your help more than ever! Our journal, launched 10 years ago, will be forced to close in the next few months if we do not manage to raise €20,000 ($25,000). So far, we’ve received over €16,000, which is fantastic, but not quite enough. We are therefore calling upon your solidarity and generosity to help keep Metropolitics going, free and accessible to all. If you pay taxes in France, your donation is 66% tax-deductible. THANK YOU !
