Mototaxis in Lima: an example of a successful coexistence between paratransit and official transportation
Friday 30 November 2018
Lima, the capital of Peru, ranks among the 35 largest urban areas in the world and is the fifth-largest in Latin America. But this growth quickly put a stress on Lima’s urban systems, creating problems with transportation. While it will take decades to develop a public transportation network that spans the entire urban area, the mototaxi could—thanks to its adaptability—ease this transition.
Metropolitics needs your help more than ever! Our journal, launched 10 years ago, will be forced to close in the next few months if we do not manage to raise €20,000 ($25,000). So far, we’ve received over €14,000, which is fantastic, but not enough. We are therefore calling upon your solidarity and generosity to help keep Metropolitics going, free and accessible to all. If you pay taxes in France, your donation is 66% tax-deductible. THANK YOU !
