Nadine Roudil

Nadine Roudil is a sociologist and associate professor in applied human and social sciences at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Lyon (Lyon National School of Architecture). She is also a researcher at the CRH (Centre de Recherche sur l’Habitat – Housing Research Centre), within the mixed research unit LAVUE (Laboratoire Architecture, Ville, Urbanisme, Environnement – Laboratory for Architecture, the City, Urban Planning and the Environment; UMR 7218), and a lecturer at Sciences Po Paris, where she teaches part of the Master of Urban and Regional Policies and Strategies programme.

Her work seeks to consider the place of the inhabitant in the city with respect to established norms, and reflect upon the mechanisms that produce social inequalities and the manifestations of these inequalities in spatial terms. Her research takes account in particular of contexts associated with urban renewal and the production of the sustainable city. Her publications include Usages sociaux de la déviance. Habiter la Castellane sous le regard de l’institution (Paris: L’Harmattan, 2011).
