Thorsten Wiechmann

Thorsten Wiechmann has served as chair of spatial planning and planning theory at the school of spatial planning at TU Dortmund University (Technische Universität Dortmund), Germany, since 2010. He previously held the chair of spatial planning at TU Dresden, where he was also the director of the Institute of Geography. Wiechmann has published more than 100 papers and coordinated research projects in over 20 countries, focused on urban and regional development, strategic planning, demographic change, and metropolitan governance.
