Ooha Uppalapati

Ooha Uppalapati is a PhD student in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley. She completed her master’s degree in urban planning and public policy at Rutgers University in 2022. Her research focuses on issues of housing and governance in cities in India and the United States. She is interested in studying the interactions between urban planning norms and everyday practices as a space for discursive and material possibilities. Her current research aims to observe these interactions in the urbanization of small- and medium-sized metropolitan areas in South India.
