Corentin Trevien

Corentin Trevien is an administrator at the French national statistics office, INSEE (Institut National de la Statistique et des Études Économiques), an economist in the statistics department of the French ministry for the ecological transition, and an associate researcher at the research unit CREST (Centre de Recherche en Économie et Statistique – Center for Research in Economics and Statistics), after previously holding the post of director of studies at ENSAE Paris (École Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Économique – French National School for Statistics and Economic Administration). His doctoral thesis proposed methods to quantitatively evaluate the effect of public policies on territorial dynamics: the RER suburban express rail network and urban growth in the Paris region; urban tax-free zones (zones franches urbaines) and employment in disadvantaged neighborhoods; and high-speed rail and the spatial organization of businesses. His latest work focuses on the decline of trade in town and city centers, car use in rural and periurban areas, and the estimation of CO2 emissions generated by daily travel.
