Hélène Steinmetz

Hélène Steinmetz is an assistant professor in sociology at the University of Le Havre and a member of the mixed research unit IDEES (Identités et Différenciation de l’Environnement, des Espaces et des Sociétés – “Identities and Differentiation of the Environment, Spaces and Societies”; UMR CNRS 6266). Her research primarily concerns urban sociology and the sociology of housing (transformations in the production of social housing, subsidised first-time home-ownership as a category of public action, trajectories leading to home-ownership). In parallel, she works on the legal processes involved in marital separations.
