Amandine Spire

Amandine Spire is a lecturer in geography at the Université Paris‑7 Diderot and a member of the research unit CESSMA (Centre d’études en sciences sociales sur les mondes africains, américains et asiatiques – Centre for Studies in the Social Sciences on the African, American and Asian Worlds). Her research interests include urban and migration issues in sub-Saharan Africa. Her work concerns the presence of foreigners in the city, eviction campaigns, and the right to the city. In 2011, her work L’Étranger et la Ville en Afrique de l’Ouest was published by Karthala, and in 2014 she coordinated a special issue of L’Espace politique titled “Les déplacements forcés dans les villes du Sud. Les déguerpissements en question”.
