Claire Simonneau

Claire Simonneau is a researcher in the field of urban planning, a postdoctoral fellow in urban planning at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, and a CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) research engineer within the mixed research unit Géographie-cités (France; UMR CNRS 8504). Her doctoral research, conducted at the University of Montreal, in Canada, examined land management and urban management at municipal level in Benin via the study and analysis of urban land registries (registres fonciers urbains, or RFUs). Her work focuses more generally on the stakes of urban and land management, and the implementation of public action in the Global South, as well as the application of a commons-based approach to housing.
