Kate Selden

Kate Selden works in affordable housing development at Los Sures, a community organization in Brooklyn. Kate is also a Forefront Fellow with the Urban Design Forum where she is investigating how New York City can advance economic democracy and racial justice while leveraging investment in climate action, infrastructure, and new industries that generate wealth in low-income neighborhoods. Kate has previously worked in several capacities as an urban planner and educator, consulting on community-engagement projects, connecting with NYC youth as an environmental educator, and building gardens with a design/build firm. Kate currently organizes with the APA‑NYM (American Planning Association – New York Metro) Diversity Committee, where she engages young people in immersive workshops tackling urban-planning issues.
