Emmanuel Munch holds a PhD in urban planning and development from Paris-Est University in France (obtained in 2017) and is currently a postdoctoral student in the sociology department of the University of Bologna in Italy. His research interests lie at the intersection of “chrono-urbanism” (time-based urban planning), the sociology of time and the geography of time. Since 2019, with the support of ADEME (the French Agency for Environmental Transition), he has been conducting a research project investigating the links between the perceived acceleration of the pace of life and the speed of everyday travel.
