Yoann Morvan

Yoann Morvan is an associate researcher at the GERPHAU laboratory (part of LAVUE – Laboratoire Architecture Ville Urbanisme Environnement; UMR 7218, CNRS/MCC). He occupied a post-doctorate position (CNRS) at the Institut Français d’Études Anatoliennes (French Institute of Anatolian Studies – IFEA/USR 3131), where he is currently co-director of the Istanbul Urban Laboratory.

He defended his thesis in urban planning and development (at the Institut d’Urbanisme de Paris, Université Paris-Est Créteil Val-de-Marne) entitled Les territoires urbains de l’échange (lit. “The Urban Territorires of Exchange”), under the direction of Thierry Paquot (to be published by L’Harmattan). In addition, he is the author of a number of contributions to collective works and articles in journals such as Urbanisme, Études Foncières and EspacesTemps.net, primarily on the subject of Toulouse, Istanbul and themes such as urban development projects, urban marketing, the social geography of trade and consumption, and the philosophy of the city.
