Christelle Morel Journel is an assistant professor at the University of Saint-Étienne Jean Monnet and a researcher within the mixed research unit EVS (Environnement, Ville, Société – Environment, City, Society; UMR CNRS 5600). Her research focuses on (re)development strategies in industrial cities, the transformations of urban development tools and policies, and processes of territorial devaluation. With Fabien Desage and Valérie Sala Pala, she recently co‑edited the collective work Le Peuplement comme politique(s) (Presses Universitaires de Rennes, 2014), and with Gilles Pinson she has co‑edited a special issue of the journal Territory, Politics, Governance (vol. 4, n° 2, 2016) and a collective work published by Routledge (2017) titled Debating the Neoliberal City.
