Marianne Morange is a lecturer in geography at the Université Paris‑7 Diderot, a member of the research unit CESSMA (Centre d’études en sciences sociales sur les mondes africains, américains et asiatiques – Centre for Studies in the Social Sciences on the African, American and Asian Worlds), and a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France. As a specialist in urban policy in South African cities, her work currently focuses on entrepreneurial urban planning, street trade and the right to the city in Cape Town. In 2014, she coordinated a special issue of the journal Justice Spatiale|Spatial Justice – of which she is a member of the editorial committee – on the theme of the urbanisation of neoliberalism.
