Frédéric Mercure-Jolette

Frédéric Mercure-Jolette teaches philosophy at the CÉGEP (collège d’enseignement général et professionnel, literally “general and vocational college”) in Saint-Laurent, Montreal, and is a doctoral candidate in political science at the Université de Montréal. After completing a master’s degree on the Weimar feuilletons of Siegfried Kracauer at the University of Ottawa, he focused his research on the history of urban planning in Montreal during the three decades of post-war boom (“Les Trente Glorieuses”). He is particularly interested in discursive elements, political ideas, and the ways in which the authority of expert discourse is accepted.
