Anne M. Lovell is an anthropologist and Senior Research Scientist (Directrice de Recherche) with INSERM (U 988), at CERMES3-Eq CESAMES (Université de Paris Descartes). Her past ethnographic work has focused on marginality, narrative and mental illness; the emergence of user representation in psychiatric services and research; and pharmaceuticals and globalization. She is currently working on two projects: a book about healthcare restructuring in post-disaster New Orleans, from the medical anthropology and urban perspectives; and a historical study of the shaping of psychiatric epidemiology as an international discipline.
