Gerry L’Étang is a lecturer in anthropology at the University of the French West Indies and French Guiana (Martinique campus) and a member of CRILLASH (Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Literature, Language, Art and Human Sciences). His work concerns cultural creolisation, diasporic Hinduism, Islam in southern India, aesthetics, addiction and Haiti.
His recent publications include Drive : l’errance ensorcelée (HC Éditions, 2009), La peinture en Martinique (HC Éditions, 2007), and L’Inde dans les arts de la Guadeloupe et de la Martinique. Héritages et innovations (Ibis Rouge, 2004).
