Lawrence Johnson

Lawrence Johnson is a sociologist and Assistant Professor of Sociology at Brooklyn College, City University of New York (CUNY). His research is focused on discourses of race and politics, particularly among high-profile Black elected individuals. His article for Metropolitics is part of an ongoing project researching the historic and contemporary roles of everyday activists in his home town of Chicago. He currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
