V. Gajendran

Dr. V. Gajendran is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology within the School of Excellence in Law at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University in India. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, India, where he worked on the project “Reimagining the ‘Good City’ from Ennore Creek, Chennai,” funded by the British Academy. He earned his PhD from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in Chennai, India. His areas of interest include the sociology of development, the rural–urban continuum, and the transformation of agricultural land for non-agricultural uses in peri-urban areas.
