Philippe Dubourg

Philippe Dubourg is the mayor of Carcarès-Sainte-Croix, a village in the Landes département of south-west France, and president of Maires ruraux des Landes (an association of mayors of rural municipalities in the Landes département). His publications include: La Tempête (Atlantica), a fictionalised chronicle following cyclone Klaus, which ravaged France and Spain in January 2009; 1000 ans d’histoire de la ruralité (France Libris), a coffee-table book based on the son et lumière show “Mémoire de la terre”; La Démocratie, un état des lieux du local au global (France Libris), an essay on the shortcomings of democracy as the basis for living together in harmony; Pensées multiples (France Libris), which takes the form of poems set to the music of Hervé Leveau; and La Réforme des rythmes scolaires (France Libris), an essay on the reform of the primary-school week in France.
