Jean-Claude Driant is a professor at the École d’Urbanisme de Paris (EUP – Paris School of Urban Planning, Université Paris-Est) and a researcher within the Lab’Urba research unit. His work focuses on housing markets and housing policies, both at national level and at local level across diverse territories. With Françoise Navarre, he is co-coordinator of the “Habitat et Renouvellement Urbain” (“Housing and Urban Renewal”) master’s programme at the EUP.
He is a member of the Commission Nationale de Comptes du Logement (French National Commission of Housing Finance) and the Observatoire National de la Vie Étudiante (French National Observatory of Student Life), and was a board member, between 2014 and 2017, of the Observatoire National de la Pauvreté et de l’Exclusion Sociale (French National Observatory of Poverty and Social Exclusion). He also contributes to the work of the steering committee for the annual report on poor housing published by the Fondation Abbé-Pierre (Abbé Pierre Foundation for the Housing of the Underprivileged).
His publications include Les Politiques du Logement en France (La Documentation Française, 2015).
