Muriel Cohen

Muriel Cohen holds a PhD in modern history at the Université Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne – for which she defended a thesis titled “Des familles invisibles. Politiques publiques et trajectoires résidentielles de l’immigration algérienne (1945–1985)” (“Invisible families. Public policies and residential trajectories of Algerian immigration (1945–1985)”) – and is a member of the Centre d’Histoire Sociale du XXe Siècle (Centre for 20th-Century Social History). Her research focuses on the social history of Algerian immigration and the history of housing for immigrants. Her publications include “Les bidonvilles de Nanterre, entre ‘trop-plein’ de mémoire et silences” (Diasporas, no. 17, 2011).
