Armelle Choplin

Armelle Choplin is a professor at the University of Geneva, in Switzerland, where she lectures in geography and urban planning. Her research focuses on urban production in Africa and the Arab world. She seeks to compare and contrast the city as planned by institutional and private actors with the city as built and developed by its inhabitants. Her work primarily concerns the themes of digital innovation, the construction industry, informal housing, land and property issues, political mobilization, and migration in Western Africa.
