Éric Charmes is a researcher in social sciences applied to urban issues. He is the director of the RIVES (Recherches Interdisciplinaires Ville–Espace–Société – Interdisciplinary Research into Cities, Spaces and Society) laboratory (ENTPE, Université de Lyon, UMR CNRS 5600 EVS). In particular, his work concerns the relationships with city-dwellers’ residential spaces, as well as public spaces and periurbanisation. His publications include: La Ville émiettée.
