Claire Cahen

Claire Cahen is a PhD candidate in the environmental psychology program at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY). Her dissertation is ethnographic and examines how parents, students, and teachers negotiate cuts to public education in Newark, New Jersey. She has published on labor unions and political struggle in Industrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society, and has written about urban social movements in Shelterforce, City & Community, Antipode, and Housing Studies.
