Hilary Botein

Hilary Botein is an associate professor at the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY), and the editorial director of Metropolitics for the 2019/2020 academic year. Her research explores the social politics of policies and programs underlying affordable housing and community development. She also is interested in how housing programs can meet the needs of vulnerable populations—and in how they fail. She has published in journals including Housing Policy Debate, Urban Affairs Review, and the Journal of Urban History.
