Christian Ben Lakhdar is professor of economics at the University of Lille and a member of the LEM joint research unit (Lille Économie Management – Lille Economics and Management; UMR CNRS 9221). As an economist specialized in the field of drugs and addictive behavior, his work focuses on both the economics of crime and the economics of health. His recent research addresses the legalization of cannabis and the regulatory methods that would need to be implemented to ensure an optimal management of such markets, whether these concern gambling, currently illicit drugs, or legal drugs such as alcohol and tobacco.
