Emmanuel Bellanger

Emmanuel Bellanger is a CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) research fellow at the Centre d’Histoire Sociale du XXe Siècle (Centre for 20th‑Century Social History) at Paris‑1 University. His work concerns the municipal history of towns and cities, and the political, social and urban history of French suburbs. More specifically, his research focuses on local public policy and the major networked urban infrastructures associated with it, the history of intermunicipal and metro‑area government structures, the history of local elites, the history of Greater Paris, and the history of banlieues rouges and banlieues bleues (communist “red suburbs” and conservative “blue suburbs”) in France.
