Florine Ballif is a graduate of the Institut d’Études Politiques in Strasbourg, holds a PhD in urban planning and development, and is a lecturer at the École d’Urbanisme de Paris. Her research concerns security policy, the processes involved in the closure of urban spaces, and identity-based conflicts.
Her recent publications include “Artefacts sécuritaires et urbanisme insulaire : les quartiers d’habitat social rénovés à Belfast”, Espaces et Sociétés (no. 150, 2012, pp. 67–84), and “Portraying the divided city.
