Jean-Yves Authier

Jean-Yves Authier is Professor of Sociology at the University Lyon-2 and Deputy Director of the Max Weber Research Center (UMR 5283, CNRS). His research is situated at the intersection of urban sociology and the sociology of socialization. He is the author (and co-author) of Sociologie urbaine (Paris, Armand Colin, 2011, 3rd edition), Sociologie de Lyon (Paris, La Découverte, 2010), Le Quartier. Enjeux scientifiques, actions politiques et pratiques sociales (Paris, La Découverte, 2006) and Élire domicile. La construction sociale des choix résidentiels (Lyon, Presses Universitaires de Lyon, 2010).
